What comes after The Information Age?
For years, we’ve been anticipating– then being in – the information age… but I think we’re coming to the end of that age now in terms of humans doing paid work to manipulate information.
AIs will do that better in the next 20 years.
So then what will be the age after that?
The problem is that AIs will undoubtably become better at doing most things than us. The one area humans are really good at – and hard to get an AI to repeat – is having emotions.
Will there be a new socio-economical age where our ability to have and spot and use emotions becomes valuable? And if so, how does that translate into things we might sell?
